NORTH LOCHS 5K CANCELLED

Due to an increase of Covid-19 cases in North Lochs, we have decided to cancel the 5K event this Saturday to help prevent further spread at what would have been our first community event.

A refund will be issued to those who bought tickets.  We ask for your patience as it may take 5-10 working days to process.

Covid may have stopped us in our tracks for Saturday, but please continue with the village walks this lovely week and send us your pictures for when it feels safer to be together.

NORTH LOCHS 5K & COMMUNITY BARBECUE

Saturday 28th August

5K Run / Walk

Start Time: 
3pm at the North Lochs Hall, Leurbost.

Age Limits:
Under 12s  – must be accompanied by an adult on the road at all time.
(There is also a separate Children’s Sports Event for Children aged 5-11 starting at 3pm, see below for further details.)

Age 12+ can run/walk the route on own with parents permission

Route:
Start is at the North Lochs Hall Leurbost, run/walk towards the Crossbost Free Church.  The Church is the half way point, turn back and head back towards Leurbost.  The finish is near the Hall.

Cost:
Adults – £10
Children Under 16 – £6

Barbecue: 
5K entry also includes a Barbecue ticket, which includes one burger and drink.
(Barbecue Options: Burger/Sausage/Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten Free)

Medals:
All 5k entrants will get a finisher’s medal.  There will be prizes also.

Track and Trace:
Online booking will ask for name and address of all participants, for track and trace purposes.

Children’s Sports Event

For children aged 5-11 there will be some fun races to take part in on the football pitch, while the 5K is taking place. Please let us have the name and age of any children you wish to register. Children’s Fancy Dress optional, and there will be a small prize for the best fancy dress.

3pm at the football pitch behind the North Lochs Hall, Leurbost.

Children aged 5-11 only.

Village Walks

August we would like to dedicate each village a day and on that day we would like as many villagers as possible to go for a walk and capture the moment with a picture of your favourite view, favourite lockdown spot or selfie and send it to us.

On the Saturday we are hosting our first 5K event.  After the 5k there will be a BBQ; now we have the part where we record our memories.

During the BBQ there will be the opportunity to see a slideshow of the pictures submitted throughout the week and we would also encourage you to write an entry into a ‘Memory Book’ which will capture our experiences over the last 18 months.

We hope that many of you will take part on a village walk day, the 5k or just come along to the BBQ and enjoy the pictures and recall memories and feel thankful to be part of a re-energised community spirit.
